Self-Shiatsu

Remember to relax your fingers. Relax you breath. And release your shoulders from your ears. Often people will tense up the fingers, thinking it needs to be firm to do any real work. The softer the pressure the more you will realize that you will be penetrating deeper into your body. The advantage of learning self-shiatsu is that it can be done anywhere and at anytime. You are your own healer. Remember this.

Body Tapping

Body Tapping is a quick and easy basic meridian exercise. Tapping along a pattern on your body will help stimulate the meridians. The tapping helps with circulation, open blockages and releases stagnation. Cells are strengthened through the tapping. Tap gently and comfortable to achieve the best results.

Makko Ho Stretches

Masunaga developed a series of stretches that allowed one to become more aware of the meridian system. These stretches are called Makko Ho stretches. The focus is not to push but to relax into the positions. We are all flexible at our own level. When you get into the position, feel where your body is tensing, and release it. Allow yourself to enjoy the position. What do you feel?
